Modem Installation

If you want, can try select next and automatically detection modem.
or check "Don't detect my modem" - Have disk - By the help of Browse find drivers files

Select models and manufacturer of your modem - For drivers from manufacturer select "Have disk..."

In next dialog by the help of button "Browse..." you can find location for driver files

Mark some from files *.inf with driver and select OK

Location for drivers - select OK to Continue

Click the modem and Next

Select the port - (Com1 or Com2)

Enter Country and Area code

Choose phone system Pulse (analog) or Tone (digital)

Creating new Connection

Type a name of... - Name for Icon in Dial-Up Networking (any)

Configure...

In Connection abort check "Wait for dial tone before dialing" - OK

(Maybe in other country must be check, but in Czech Republic must be uncheck)

Type phone number for connection to your ISP (Internet Service Provider)

With new Icon and connection

Use right button mouse and select properties for detailed configuration

Properties

Can specify phone number to your ISP, modem configuration and selection

For common option are PPP server, Software Compression and Only TCP/IP protocol

Typical configuration - Occasionally can specify IP addresses for DNS servers

Problems

Icon dial-Up networking is missing - You have not installed Dial Up networking - You need install it - Control panel - Add/Remove Programs - Windows Setup - Communications - check Dial-UP Networking
Discover message "There was no dial tone" and modem is not dialing - probably you are not cancel check "Wait for dial tone before dialing" in modem configuration
Modem is not responding - problems with cable, with driver or settings - try use diagnostic - control panel - modems - Diagnostics - select port s with modem - select More Information
