Low quality sound of audio CD - Most of the low quality audio CDs are made by creating WAV and MP3 files that enable to record audio tracks. It is caused by low quality drives or by a scratched or just a low quality source CD. So, a quality CD drive is recommended, I prefer rather high quality SCSI drive. Although the SCSI recorder can also cause some problems, I have worse experience rather with EIDE drives. SCSI is also more supported by recording software than EIDE. The reading drive must support the "Digital Audio Extraction" function.

quality mode, although some drives do not manage to do so. The result is that the songs contain noise or some other disruptive effects. Grabbing - scanning (reading) audio tracks sector by sector into a sound file.
Problems with reading of some CDs - the medium is physically damaged or an unsuitable medium was used to recording. Some drives can be more sensitive to the kind of the recorded media. Try to use a medium with other surface
(colors) or to record on another drive. The recording speed can also influence the reading, in other drives these media can be readable without problems.
It is not possible to record on the medium
- The medium can be recorded only on a recording drive. Some media can be bad. (usually 1 form 100). Sometimes the medium is wrong detected and it is enough just ot insert it again and detect.
Problems with "Buffer
Underun" The most frequent reason is the insufficient data
delivery. This appears in case of high speed and large amount of files without having created the image. Possible solution is to create the image for recording and to reduce the recording speed
Error when finalizing disk - There can be more errors. It is sometimes possible in the program just to close the CD with "Finalize disk" command and the error is rectified. But it happens more often that the medium is irrecoverably lost. Once I faced this problem in Ricoh drive - this drive worked correctly only with certain media (Blue Verbatim) and the others made problems when finalizing the disk (Green 3M).
Some programs refuse working under Windows NT - I often hear about a recommendation to record under Windows NT. It is not such a bad idea, but there are coming several problems with starting the drive than in Windows 9x. Supporting programs for NT or ASPI drivers that support the recording are usually missing . You can test the drivers by ASPI Check utility. The most recent drivers are always part of Adobe Easy CD Creator program.

Recording video file larger than 700MB - Using a program supporting Video CD format. When converting to the video CD format the source files of the video on CD can be larger than 700MB
Other problems? - Visit official pages of the drive producer and find the recent version of firmware (something like BIOS for drive). Try to use another software. Use recent drivers and new versions of software.
